Using The Atarim Chrome Extension

Last Updated On 2024-02-13

The Atarim Chrome extension can help you take advantage of our visual collaboration feature with just a single click. No matter the website you’re on, you can instantly create a new project, leave a comment, and assign tasks to your clients or team members.

In this post, you’ll find out how to install, activate, and use the Atarim Chrome extension with your team and clients.

Installing The Extension

To install the Atarim Chrome extension, head over to the Chrome web store, search for Atarim, and click on the ‘Add To Chrome‘ button.

After that, you’ll need to click on the ‘Add Extension’ button in the popup that appears.

Pinning The Extension to Chrome

To make accessing our extension as easy as possible, we recommend pinning it to the extension tab in Google Chrome. To pin the Atarim extension, click on the jigsaw icon at the top right corner of Google Chrome.

You will see a window with all installed extensions. To pin the Atarim extension, click on the ‘pin’ icon next to it.

This will pin our extension to your browser, letting you to access it in just one click.

Connecting Your Atarim Account

Now it’s time to connect your Atarim account to the extension, so you can use it.

For that, you’ll need to click on the Atarim extension icon at the top right corner and select the ‘Connect to Atarim’ button.

After that, you’ll be automatically redirected to our website.

  • If you’re logged in, the extension will be connected and you’re good to go.
  • If you’re not logged in, you’ll have to create a new account / log in.

Now that you’ve successfully logged in, you will see a screen where we are connecting the extension to your Atarim account – it should take just a few seconds.

Adding Websites To Visually Collaborate Using Atarim

Now you’re set up and ready to use our extension.

If you click on the Atarim extension icon, you will see a pop up with a few options.

  • Collaborate on this page. Create a new project in Atarim and start collaborating on the page you’re on.
  • Image collaboration. Take a screenshot of your current screen or web page, and then add annotations/notes for collaboration
  • Access Atarim Dashboard. Redirect you to your Atarim dashboard.
  • Settings icon. You can learn more about our extension or disconnect the extension from your Atarim account.

Website Collaboration

To visually collaborate on any website, simply click on the ‘Collaborate On This Page’ button in our extension.

This will automatically add the page you’re on to your Atarim account as a new project.

After that, you’ll be redirected to this project in Atarim, so you can start leaving comments and collaborating with your team.

If you’re on a website you’ve already added to your Atarim account, you’ll see the existing project within your account – so you can click on it and collaborate.

This will ensure you’re not creating duplicated projects and help keep everything organized. However, if you’re looking to create a new project you can do that by clicking on the ‘Create a New Project’ button.

Adding Screenshots To Collaborate On

Our Chrome extension also enables you to take a full page screenshot to let your team members or clients see your screen. This is very handy for sharing issues that may have appeared in your browser, yet your team and clients aren’t experiencing them.

To stay organized, we encourage you to add the screenshots you take into the existing Graphics projects.

You can do that by clicking on the ‘Assign a Project’ button under the Image Collaboration.

After that, choose the project name and then you can start adding screenshots. (In case you don’t select/have any existing projects, a new one will be created automatically.)

To create a screenshot, click on the ‘Your View’ button under the Image Collaboration.

Atarim will automatically create a screenshot of your screen and add it as a Graphics Project to our app – so you can share it, add notes or annotations, and collaborate on it.

If you’re on a website that has many screens (a page where you have to scroll), you can click on the ‘Entire Page’ button, and we’ll take a screenshot of the whole page. After that, it will be added to Atarim as a Graphics Project.

Note: Depending on the size of the page, this could take a little longer.
